    After The Snow

    It’s that time of year again when I so desperately wish for color, but through all the dullness of Ohio winters at least there was snow.  Sometimes frozen, sometimes fresh, water is the transitional element that weaves us from one season into the next. This iris reminds me of that transformation as Winter snowflakes thaw and dissolve, only to revive themselves as showers in Spring.

    And so, as I anxiously await the first signs of Spring I’m often reminded that in Winter, sometimes it’s the bareness that allows those lying dormant to take center stage.

    Snow, Snow, And More Snow

    The Farmers Almanac was spot on in its prediction for our Winter forecast. Feeding wildlife and watching their day-to-day antics can serve more than just the critters. Like crowd watching at the fair, it can lift the weight of the winter blanket that can be overwhelming at times when gray day after gray day blend seamlessly into early dark nights. And so, a few more images of the winged ones.
